Couldn’t turn down the chance to take part in this 26 project. The idea was to write a chapter about a Shakespeare play (in my case The Comedy of Errors), relating it back to your own professional life. As it happened, I was aware that I had a thespian namesake who is an illustrious member of the RSC, so this was a great excuse to meet up with him. The resulting encounter (somewhat surreally retold) is at the heart of a chapter that deals with double meanings, mistaken identities and every writer's guilty pleasure – the pun.
